1. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES
* PURPOSE: The purpose of this consultancy is to identify and
analyse potential funding streams available to and viability of social
enterprises. The aim is to enable these enterprises to access diverse
sources of funding that can support their sustainable growth and
social impact objectives.
* OBJECTIVES:
* To conduct a comprehensive review of existing and emerging funding
opportunities for social enterprises, including grants, loans, equity
investments, and other financial instruments.
* To assess the suitability of these funding streams for different
types of social enterprises based on their sector, scale, and
development stage.
* To provide strategic recommendations on how social enterprises can
effectively access and leverage these funding sources.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
* RESEARCH AREAS:
* Governmental and non-governmental grants specifically designed for
social enterprises.
* Financial institutions offering loan facilities tailored for
social enterprises.
* Impact investors and venture capitalists focused on social
entrepreneurship.
* Crowdfunding platforms suitable for social enterprise projects.
* Case studies of successful funding acquisitions by social
enterprises.
* DELIVERABLES:
* A detailed report that maps out potential funding sources,
including eligibility criteria, application processes, and key
contacts.
* An analysis of best practices and strategies for securing funding.
* A presentation to stakeholders summarising the findings and
recommendations.
3. METHODOLOGY
* DATA COLLECTION: Utilise a combination of primary and secondary
research methodologies, including interviews with fund managers and
social enterprise leaders, surveys, and review of existing literature
and reports.
* ANALYSIS TOOLS: Apply qualitative and quantitative analysis
techniques to evaluate the feasibility and impact of different funding
sources on social enterprises.
* STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT: Engage with stakeholders through workshops
or focus groups to validate findings and refine strategies.
4. TIMEFRAME
* DURATION: The consultancy will be conducted over a period of 3
months from the date of contract signing.
* MILESTONES:
* Month 1: Completion of initial research and first draft of the
report.
* Month 2: Stakeholder consultations and incorporation of feedback.
* Month 3: Final report and presentation to the client.
6. BUDGET AND PAYMENT
* QUOTATION: A quotation should be provided as part of the tender
response.
* CONSULTANCY FEE: The total budget for this consultancy is (to be
agreed) Payment will be made in three instalments upon completion of
agreed milestones.
* EXPENSES: Any additional expenses incurred during the consultancy
must be pre-approved and will be reimbursed as per the company’s
standard policies.
7. REPORTING
* The consultant will report directly to Programme Manager, Orlagh
Denneny, and will be required to submit fortnightly progress reports.
8. CONFIDENTIALITY AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
* All findings, data, and strategic recommendations generated from
this consultancy will remain the property of the client and cannot be
used or shared without explicit permission.
